Tony McGrew's interests embrace globalization and international
relations theory, military globalization, US foreign policy and
problems of global governance. Among his books are: Globalization /
Anti-Globalization, co-author, Polity 2002; Governing the Global
Polity, co-author, Polity Press, 2002; Empire: The United States in the
Twentieth Century (2nd Ed.), editor, Hodder and Stoughton, 2002; The
Global Transformations Reader, with D. Held, Polity Press, 2000; Global
Transformations: Politics, Economics and Culture, co-author, Polity
Press and Stanford University Press, 1999; The Transformation of
Democracy?: Globalization and Territorial Democracy, editor, Polity
Press, 1997; Asia-Pacific in the New World Order, editor, Routledge,
1998. Tony McGrew is Chair of International Relations at Southampton
University in the UK. He previously worked at the now Liverpool John
Moores University; after many years at The Open University he moved
recently to Southampton University.
